Fr. Marc

My contribution to the development of hundreds of villages, is to teach them to reflect on the life of the village by meeting in committee every week. This has had and still has extraordinary results. The villagers, who never used to consult each other but lived at a distance from each other in different tribes and castes, now sit together, eat together and lead their village in a phenomenal progress of vegetable cultivation, but also of peace and good understanding. They have also learned to take care of the poorest, the widows, the tuberculosis patients.

Soline

Hi! My name is Soline, I’m French, living in Zürich and working in supply chain. When I was 15, I was very lucky to go to India and meet there my great-uncle Marc who is a Jesuit and has been living there for more than 70 years now.

That was an amazing opportunity to meet local people and experience a completely different and so beautiful culture through his work. He told me about this inspiring project that didn’t get funding and I thought that we could help make it happen.

Help support these villagers locally and help them get keys to survive, with their culture, in our crazy world, that’s a big challenge. I am very lucky to be surrounded by talented and generous friends thanks to whom this campaign is live now!

Mrs Harriet

She has done four years of nursing training in Delhi in General Nursing and Midwifery Course. At Gram Utthan Kendra-Catholic Charities Gumla she has been working since 2002 and is now the Office Manager for the Coordination of 37 Rural Health Clinics. Her ability to educate and train health counselors in the villages is admirable. As well as her gift for organizing projects. All in all, an excellent cooperator.

Sister Anna Xalxo

I am Sr. Anna Xalxo, I have a great desire to work for people who are vulnerable, poor and in need to be supported to live a dignified life and be part of society. So I joined the Congregation of St.Joseph of Tarbes, Province of Banglore. Because of my interest in working for upliftment of the poor and needy I was sent to do a Bachelor of Social work in Mangalore for three years. After my studies I was in Ambikapur (Madya Pradiesh) for 5 years of fieldwork experience working in an NGO with a congregation sister. In 1996 Fr. Marc had asked if a sister could be part of the association Gram Uthan Kendra. We supported since then and I joined in 2018. Fr. Marc gave me the responsibility to coordinate the women department, where different projects like Mahila Shanti are implemented. May God bless you and all the people who generously come forward to help the people in need especially the Gram Uthan Gumla, and even in other states of Jharkhand, India.

Adrien

Hello, my name is Adrien, in broad terms and to situate myself, I am the brother of the person in charge of funding this great project, Soline. Mainly involved in the campaign with my pictures that I hope you will like. They were taken in 2018 during a trip to meet my Jesuit great-uncle (director of the NGO receiving donations) who gives his life for over 70 years now in the Indian countryside. His mission is so beautiful: education, empowerment, organization of the natives to reach a maximum autonomy (concretely to resist the invading capitalism, as we know it happens like everywhere else). This mission also involves support regarding people's health, have a look at the project ;)

Aileen

My name is Aileen and I am a tax adviser, creating websites in my spare time. I was inspired by the Mahila Shanti project and was keen to support, having spent the first 10 years of my life in India. I am excited to see what the project can achieve and the real change it can bring to the people in the Gumla region.

Marina

Hey! My name is Marina Konther and I am studying animation and motion design at the Institut Supérieure Couleur Image et Design, Montauban, in France. When I heard about Mahila Shanti, it directly echoed with subjects I have been thinking about lately. I thought this was an opportunity to participate in the realisation of this project. This way, I could combine my knowledge in the audiovisual sector and my personal desire to be at least a bit useful towards others.

Camille

I am a student in master 1 of art at the Beaux-arts de Nancy, in France. Mahila Shanti is a humanitarian project and when I was asked to draw the title I accepted. But this work is secondary because it is the Indian women who are highlighted in this project, who are at the center.

Astrid

I had the opportunity to visit India from the inside thanks to our uncle, Uncle Marc. A country that is really worth discovering to open our little European eyes. With your help, you will allow women to be actors of their village of their village and to be able to assert themselves...To a village to be able to exist otherwise than by superstition. Our uncle does a remarkable job to make the Indians as autonomous as possible autonomous as possible and so that they can be independent. In advance, I thank you for your help.

Ben

I'm Ben Coupland and I heard about Mahila Shanti from my good friend, Soline, in Zürich. In my day job I work as a Digital Manager for a luxury consumer brand, often questioning myself on how my actions can make the world a better place for the average person. I've been inspired by the Mahila Shanti project and the great work they are planning to do, helping to raise up all human beings.
